Scholarship Guidelines

1.  The scholarship can only be used for the purpose of obtaining REALTOR designation or certification and must be applied for within one year of receipt of the scholarship.
2.  The recipient of the Scholarship will apply for the designation or certification through the HABR Association Executive.  The fee will be paid by HABR up to $500.
3.  If there is a balance after the fee has been paid, the balance can be applied to expenses directly related to obtaining the designation or certification. ie: travel, hotel accommodations, meals (must provide receipts along with an expense report)
4.  Elected Board of Directors are not eligible for the scholarship for the year that is served on the Board of Directors.  This also includes Committee Chairs and Co-Chairs.
5.  In case of a tie, a special committee will be selected by the Board of Directors.  The committee will be chosen as follows:  The committee will consist of 5 people with one person chosen from different offices belonging to HABR as a primary board.
6.  The top 10 point earners will be posted quarterly on the HABR website for the first 3 quarters of the year. No points will be posted, only names.
7.  The points may be obtained from January 1 - December 31 of each year beginning with 2010.
8.  The scholarship recipient will be announced at the Annual Awards Banquet.
9.  The point system will be tallied as follows:
     1.  Event Chairperson - 10 points
          *Event Chair will maintain points for volunteers
          *Minimum One (1) hour participation - 2 points
          *Each additional half (1/2) hour - 1 point
          *The chair will split the 10 points evenly with one co-chair.
     2.  HABR sponsored CE Classes - points are equivalent to the amount of CE     
          hours
     3.  Sponsor an affiliate to join the board - 5 points
     4.  RPAC Contributions
          Level 1 ($1-$99)       - 2 points
          Level 2 ($100-$199) - 5 points
          Level 3 ($200 +)       - 10 points
     5.  Attend Luncheons - 2 points
